Global Survey

Thank you for participating in the global survey.

The outline drawings are from claw-like shapes from Maine in the U.S. Claw-like shapes are common, readily recognizable, and like all other shapes, often visible just on the ground.

Of course most often rocks are shaped by moving water; if these were not, misshapen examples may be a way to parse the difference.

Please add to a larger picture. If these shapes prove to be a type of fossil, it could be a significant addition to the fossil record. If you know these shapes or find an example, contact us.
